In an exciting addition to the celebrations planned for the 1,100th anniversary of Wells
Cathedral School, we are delighted to announce the publication of A Brilliant Foundation for Life.
Edited by Lydia Darbyshire, this book will tell the story of the school and its journey. It will focus especially on the route mapped out by Preb. A.F. Ritchie, Frank Commings, Alan Quilter, John Baxter and Elizabeth Cairncross.
A Brilliant Foundation for Life will be presented in a vivid, entertaining style. Richly illustrated with specially commissioned full-colour photography and rare archive images, the book will
also include first-hand accounts, observations and experiences from generations past and present, including current pupils.
Contribute now: You can help! Wellensians are invited to contribute their own special memories, images and memorabilia, ensuring that this milestone volume reflects the true spirit and traditions of the school. Send your contributions to: The Editor, A Brilliant Foundation for Life, c/o TMI, 2–5 Benjamin Street, London EC1M 5QL, or email WCS@tmiltd.com
All contributions will be acknowledged and returned if required. Although space and editorial considerations mean that not all can be
published, contributions can, with the donor’s permission, be lodged with the School’s Archives.
